off for a week

the paper's standing at 23 pages (i spent most of the time reshuffling what i have so far instead of adding to it...) and i'm off for a one-week holiday. i hope to get at least a little reading done before i get back.

quick update & schedule

22 pages now. still working on chapter 2, which is now entitled "what is a weblog?". my plan is to get done with the first "half" of the paper (may or may not actually turn out to be 50%) before going on vacation for the second half of august. i know that won't work at a rate of two pages per 13 days though...

20 pages and counting

short status update: my "blogselection.pdf" (read: "blogs election", not "blog selection") counts 20 pages now. i'm still working on chapter two, "Weblogs". i want to get that done (to a certain degree) before starting on chapter three, "The Role of Weblogs in Elections".

due date: november 10, 2005

i received a letter from university today, admitting me to my thesis. interesting wording, but i'm not one to complain... the due date is november 10, 2005 - although i am free to hand it in earlier, which is in fact my plan.
writing is coming along: did a bit more yesterday and i'm set to do more right now.

writing ctd.

yesterday and today went quite well regarding my writing. i'm concentrating on blogs in general and wrote up some stuff on the commenting feature. i noticed that i really like footnotes. they offer a place for meanderings - thoughts i previously left out due to fear of distracting the reader. the pdf of my text currently comprises 18 pages - including title page, toc, works cited and one page only containing headlines for the chapter on elections. i'll keep reporting the number of pages to somewhat document my progress.
